Dr. Ajaz S. Hussain is a highly accomplished pharmaceutical scientist with a
distinguished career spanning academia, industry, and regulatory affairs. Currently serving as an
advisor to technology companies, he brings expertise from extensive leadership roles. Dr.
Hussain was the President of the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Technology and
Education (NIPTE) and founded Insight Advice and Solutions LLC. His notable career includes
positions such as Chief Scientific Officer and President of Biotechnology at Wockhardt, Chief
Scientific Officer at Philip Morris International, and Global Head of Biopharmaceutical
Development at Sandoz. Dr. Hussain’s career includes key roles at the U.S. Food and Drug
Administration (FDA), where he served as Deputy Director of the Office of Pharmaceutical
Science. He spearheaded pivotal initiatives during his tenure, including Process Analytical
Technology and Pharmaceutical Quality for the 21st Century. A recognized leader in his field,
Dr. Hussain is a Fellow of the American Association for Pharmaceutical Sciences (AAPS) and
the Swiss Society for Pharmaceutical Sciences. He has received numerous prestigious awards,
including the Scientific Achievement Award from the US FDA, the Scientific Achievement
Award for Regulatory Science from AAPS, and the Industrial Pharmacy Medal from the
International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP). Dr. Hussain is committed to improving the
predictability of medicinal product development and regulatory approvals, focusing on
enhancing quality assurance across the pharmaceutical sector.
