About me
Debanjan (Deb), is a drug delivery scientist and an innovation-driven technical manager with over 19 years of product development experience in driving projects from concept to commercialization. He has marketed more than 40 commercial products in US (small molecules & biologics), encompassing pre-clinical development, drug delivery strategies, scale-up expertise & proven leadership skills. His research interests encompass drug targeting to brain via oral & intranasal routes utilizing nanosystem-based delivery vehicles. In addition, he has worked extensively on novel brain-targeted nanoparticles, human blood brain barrier (BBB) cell line hCMEC/D3, bioadhesive microspheres, “needle-free” epidermal delivery of botulinum toxin (BOTOX®) via nanoemulsions, delivery and gastro-retentive systems for delivery of small molecules & biologics. He is actively engaged in bringing new-to-world products to market and has over 10 unique formulation and drug delivery related patents. He serves as Sr. Associate Director and science fellow at Bayer Healthcare’s global R&D where he manages a team of scientists to bring innovative dosage forms by managing $1MM plus formulation development budget. He has two Masters of Science degrees, in Industrial Pharmacy and Drug Delivery from St. John’s University, NY & Purdue University, IN, US. Currently, he is pursuing his doctorate degree in nanomedicine with the supervision of Dr. Lalatsa, School of Pharmacy & Biomedical Sciences, University of Strathclyde, Scotland, UK.
